Synopsis
The inaugural 2019 season ran across six cities, Indianapolis, Naples, Lewisville, Budapest, College Park and London, before the Grand Final climax in Las Vegas. The season sparked fierce, simmering rivalries between European teams and their American counterparts, drawing clear regional battle lines. In Europe, the star-studded Energy Standard, led by Sarah Sjöström and Chad le Clos, went head-to-head with London Roar, while in the US, the Cali Condors' Caeleb Dressel and Lilly King battled LA Current's Ryan Murphy for domestic bragging rights.
Regular Season
Run under a bracketed system, the regular season pitted teams from different regions against one another, cutting the field from eight franchises to four. Energy Standard and London Roar swept the European bracket, while the Cali Condors and LA Current dominated on the US side, eliminating the NY Breakers, DC Trident, Iron, and Aqua Centurions along the way. Individual brilliance shone through too, with Sarah Sjöström dominating the multi-round skins events, and Lilly King staying undefeated across every breaststroke format.

Final
The championship decider at Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay saw Energy Standard claim the historic first title with 453.5 points, just ahead of runners-up London Roar. Cali Condors' Caeleb Dressel stole the individual spotlight, smashing the short-course 50m freestyle world record in 20.24 seconds to earn match MVP, but it was Sarah Sjöström's dominant skins performances across the season that ultimately won her the Season MVP crown.
