The International Swimming League (ISL) today confirms the completion of its Solidarity Payment Programme.
The programme was launched during the Covid-19 pandemic as a voluntary support initiative provided by ISL for professional swimmers, who at the time faced the cancellation of competitions worldwide, the loss of associated income, and significant disruption to training and preparation. It was intended as a direct contribution to athlete welfare during one of the most difficult periods the sport has experienced. In total, the ISL allocated just above $7 million to swimmers under the programme.
All eligible swimmers have now received their solidarity payments under the programme, either directly or via their coaches.
ISL would like to thank the athletes who took part for their patience and commitment to the sport. We will be writing to athletes shortly regarding Season 3 Prize Money. The League is focused on the next chapter of professional swimming, and further updates will follow in the coming weeks.
